Who is the guy who has taken the time to write these pages and keep them updated over much of the last 6 years?
Well, I am pretty much just your average American who has grown up in the "Video Game Age".
Come on, there has to be more to it than just that.
Nope, that is pretty much it. I am a 26 year old male (as of this writing in 2004), and I have been playing Video and / or Computer games of some sort or another since I was 6 years old.
Six years old? Wow, you got an early start!
Yeah, in 1984, my father bought our first computer, which was an Atari 800 XL PC. It was my first exposure to video games, and I spent alot of time growing up playing on that thing. All
my friends loved coming over and playing on a "real" computer (keeping in mind, back in those days, computers were not all that common). To this day, almost 20 years later, that
computer still works. They sure do not make them today like they used too.
What other systems did you play or own besides the Atari 800 XL PC?
Well, most of my friends growing up had an Atari 2600 or Atari 5400, so spent alot of time playing those. Of course, everyone had a Nintendo and a Super Nintendo
when those two systems came out around 1985 and 1991, respectively. I also owned a Sega Master System and Sega Genesis, although neither of those two systems
could compete with Nintendo.
What is your favorite game genre and why?
Personally, I have always loved Role Playing Games (RPGs), and I played pretty much everyone that I could get my hands on. There is just something about RPGs that makes you feel like you
are a part of the game, and I have always enjoyed that. I have played dozens of RPGs, and loved pretty much all of them. (One exception would be Hydlide, for the Nintendo. Even for its time,
that game sucked ass). My two favorite RPG series of all time would have to be the Final Fantasy Series (played them all up until 8), and the Phantasy Star series, which
was on the Sega Master System and Genesis.
Do you still have time to play games?
Well, these days, I am mostly playing Everquest with an occasional sojourn to FFXI Online. I have been playing Everquest since April 11th, 1999, just a few weeks after it came out,
and I am still loving it. I play FFXI every now and then whenever I have the time.
Why do you keep these pages up and running?
Well, like I said, I grew up with video games, and the music from some of the original games is just the best. Sure, games today are flashier and have fully orchestrated soundtracks,
but some of the older games will always be classics. I just wanted to be able to give back to the internet community some of the stuff they may have forgotten as they have grown older
and moved on to bigger and better games.
