I am sure many of you out there have never heard of an SPC file. For those
of you that do not know, an SPC file is the direct music track from a Super
Nintendo game. The quality of the SPC files is a little less then that of the
MP3 format in most cases. Some of the SPC files sound exactly like MP3s,
and others do not ... It just depends on the way the music was composed for
the game. The great thing about SPC files is that they are all only 65k in size,
or about 31 times smaller then a 2 MB MP3 file, which makes downloading quick,
effortless, and painless, and it also does not put a serious dent in my bandwidth
allocation.
In order to listen to SPC files, you need an SPC player.
Download the SPC Player
Once you download the SPC player, you can associate the SPC file type with the
player so that you can simply click on an SPC file to listen to it. In my experience,
I have found that the SPC files sound much better if you first open the SPC player
and then select the file you wish to listen to as opposed to directly clicking
on the SPC file on your hardrive. Just a little advice to enchance your listening
pleasure.
